TECHNOLOGY, PROJECTS & CHANGE
Overview of the market
Technology and Transformation remain on top of the priority list across the UK Insurance market. Across Insurance
carriers, brokers and MGAs there is a huge appetite to drive the delivery on significant programmes across
underwriting, pricing, claims, finance and operations to name a few areas. Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning
and Large Language Models are high on the agenda and dedicated teams focusing on innovation in these areas
are becoming more common. Whilst specialist skills remain scarce within insurance, leading firms are starting to
look outside the sector for talent in data science, digital delivery and automation.

Finance transformation continues to gather momentum, with firms modernising their finance functions to improve

reporting, embed automation and deliver better insight from data. Cost pressures, efficiency drives and the ongoing Tushar.Wadhwani@ipsgroup.co.uk
impact of IFRS 17 are all fuelling this demand, making programme managers, analysts and change professionals
with strong finance expertise highly sought after.
Core system upgrades are also shaping the market. Policy Administration System implementations are top of mind
as insurers move away from legacy platforms to enable digital product distribution and greater agility. Claims and
underwriting platforms are also being upgraded to improve customer journeys and resilience. Within the Lloyd’s and
London Markets, Blueprint Two is driving further investment, reshaping processes and accelerating adoption of
digital platforms as part of market modernisation.
Data underpins all of these initiatives, with insurers focused on stronger governance and integration to unlock AI and
meet regulatory requirements. Operational Resilience and Business Continuity remain important themes,
particularly at junior and mid-levels where talent shortages persist. Contracting is still strong but the shift Inside IR35
is changing candidate preferences, while hybrid working has broadly stabilised at three days in the office. Looking
ahead, 2026 will be defined by AI adoption, finance transformation, Blueprint Two and core system modernisation,
keeping demand for Technology and Change professionals at a premium.
