The data indicates a steady year on vacancy numbers; not as busy as the two previous
years, but this perhaps reflects a period when existing teams are now more embedded after
previous years of higher levels of hiring.

Companies recruiting in this sector continue to face challenges and, sometimes, protracted
hiring periods. In an effort to combat this situation recruitment exercises are being planned
and executed at the earliest possible stage. Also, counter offers are often prolonging hiring
processes. On this subject, clear salary figures need to be agreed at the outset, but
importantly, sensible conversations need to take place with candidates to ensure that salary
targets are realistic.
